My cool new Camera

Before I went away I went out, or sat on the computer, and bought off ebay a cool Canon Camera. It is called the Canoon A-1. It is really cool. All Manual and state of the art, for the 80's that is. But in the end it is cheap. Ill try and get some more cool lenses for it as well.

What I Saw...

Near the top of Arthurs Seat, next to Edinburgh

This is the remains of a volcanic outcropping, similar to the one that Edinburgh is situated on, only bigger. We went for a walk to the top of the seat, got to the top, then discovered that there was a much easier rout to the top. Sarah was very proud of herself for reaching the top. With the view taken in it was time to go and catch up with Vicki for a drink! On the way down I nearly stacked it and Sarah slipped onto her bottom.



Dolphins of Moray Firth

This was a piture that Sarah snapped on her camera of the Dolphins of Moray Firth. We went and looked for the dolphins the day before but had no such luck, well Sarah said that she saw one but I didn't believe her, what with my eagle eyes... We went back the next day and discovered that the dolphins were just sitting in the current about 15m off shore. Because of the large tidal movements there is quite a strong current that swings around the headland, so all teh dolphons have to do is to sit in the waves and wait for food to come to them. We watched them for nearly an hour before heading off for Edinburgh.



Birthday Cake at Aunty Janices

Aunty Janice meade me a jelly and cream cake. It was really nice. Now I am old :(



My new Car/Tractor

While we were walking near Aunty Janices we came across the remains of this cool old tracktor/jeep. It was a different change from all the, what seemed like endless when you are walking along, Heather. I ended up walking to these Lochs and then to the top of the hill where there wasa monument to the Local Lord and Lady of the area. I think the oones that built the village.



Bridge on way to Applecross

The road to Applecross was single track, think little hartley, but up the side of the mountain. The views were spectacular.

The first night in Plockton I woke up really early, programming form getting up early for work, so I decided to go for a walk with my new camera. The sun was just getting up so I took a few photos of Plockton in the morning light.

Newquay

The other weekend I decided to be a bit spontaneous. I ended up dragging Sarah along to Newquay for the weekeend. We got up on Saturday and got in the car and headed for Cornwall and arrived at Newquay around lunch time. We had freezing cold [the weather] fish and chips on the cliffs overlooking one of Newquay's beaches. We then went exploring before looking for a place to stay the night.

The next day it was so cold that we decided to go to a tropical paradise for the day. So the destination was the Eden Project. A massive garden with two huge glass houses. One wasa rainfoest and the other a medeterranian delight. Even though it was pissing down rain as well as struggling to reach above 10 degrees, we had to ditch our coats and jumpers because it was too hot. Imagine that, a place that was too hot in th UK. I would have thought that it was unbelieveable.

We spent a while wondering around there before heading home. Good fun.

Oh Ow Spagetthi O!

Well not exactly Italian, but is this case my computer started to really screw up. I did a few checks and was discovered that there were a couple of viruses on the computer. Oh well, it looks like it may be the start of a slippery slope and at the bottom is my computer lying in little pieces after I throw it out the window in sheer frustration.
Anyway think of the solution. So I went on the internet, oh the irony as it is the very place where I know I got my viruses from in the first place, stratght to SNAPFiles and to download anything with Virus protection in it. After a couple of different programmes and a number of different searches of the HDD I settled on AVG. It ended up getting rid of about 9 different things off the computer. Hopefully that sets the virus' back a bit.
Not settled to leave it there I also tried to Defragment the HDD. Wow, when I started there was only 1% of the HDD free. So I guess that is why it was going so slow. Delete, delete and a bit more till I have freed up around 15%. Hopefully this keeps the good old stylish laptop going for a little while longer.

Well its taken a while but now, after a couple fo months the first DAffodil has emerged from its fancy 6 pound pot.

Waht a horrible and Majical day!

Today I went to work. Yes horrible. But the whole day while I was working out at Swansea it was snowing. It literally didin't stop snowing for the entire morning, till about 2 in the afternoon. It was majcal to just get to watch the snowflakes fall into the palm of my hand.
