Newquay

The other weekend I decided to be a bit spontaneous. I ended up dragging Sarah along to Newquay for the weekeend. We got up on Saturday and got in the car and headed for Cornwall and arrived at Newquay around lunch time. We had freezing cold [the weather] fish and chips on the cliffs overlooking one of Newquay's beaches. We then went exploring before looking for a place to stay the night.

The next day it was so cold that we decided to go to a tropical paradise for the day. So the destination was the Eden Project. A massive garden with two huge glass houses. One wasa rainfoest and the other a medeterranian delight. Even though it was pissing down rain as well as struggling to reach above 10 degrees, we had to ditch our coats and jumpers because it was too hot. Imagine that, a place that was too hot in th UK. I would have thought that it was unbelieveable.

We spent a while wondering around there before heading home. Good fun.

Oh Ow Spagetthi O!

Well not exactly Italian, but is this case my computer started to really screw up. I did a few checks and was discovered that there were a couple of viruses on the computer. Oh well, it looks like it may be the start of a slippery slope and at the bottom is my computer lying in little pieces after I throw it out the window in sheer frustration.
Anyway think of the solution. So I went on the internet, oh the irony as it is the very place where I know I got my viruses from in the first place, stratght to SNAPFiles and to download anything with Virus protection in it. After a couple of different programmes and a number of different searches of the HDD I settled on AVG. It ended up getting rid of about 9 different things off the computer. Hopefully that sets the virus' back a bit.
Not settled to leave it there I also tried to Defragment the HDD. Wow, when I started there was only 1% of the HDD free. So I guess that is why it was going so slow. Delete, delete and a bit more till I have freed up around 15%. Hopefully this keeps the good old stylish laptop going for a little while longer.

Well its taken a while but now, after a couple fo months the first DAffodil has emerged from its fancy 6 pound pot.

Waht a horrible and Majical day!

Today I went to work. Yes horrible. But the whole day while I was working out at Swansea it was snowing. It literally didin't stop snowing for the entire morning, till about 2 in the afternoon. It was majcal to just get to watch the snowflakes fall into the palm of my hand.

Just a little bike ride...

Its Saturday and both Sarah and myself are sitting around wondering what we should do with our weekend. So I sujest a little bike ride around Bute park (the park with the stones in it next to the castle mum and dad). So off Sarah went in her car to go and borrow her dads old bike. When she got back we set off on a leisurley ride towards the town centre. Along the busy Newport road and through the packed shopping arcade we finally reached the castle and Bute park. We set off along the nice and smooth paths through the park and ended up on the Taff trail. This follows along the river Taff mor miles and eventually ends up at Brecon where if you reach this far you can catch the train back. I wasn't really thinking that that would be the Saturday afternoon ride that I was hoping for...

After a couple of hours passing many rugby fields, fly fishermen, Canoeists and many dog walkers we reached a place in the path for a quick rest. It was quite cold and neither Sarah or myself had brough a drink so we decided to head a bit further and look for a place to have a drink to warm up. Thats when Sarah suggested a pub that she knew. So off we went again. It was not until I saw a vision of Castle Coch. Castle Coch, it seemed qiute far in a car, but here we had reached it on our bikes after only about an hour of riding.

We stopped in the pub for some lunch and a drink to quench our thirst before we decided to head back home. the ride home seemed much quicker than the ride there but it was much more pleasureable as it was mostly downhill, being that it followed the river. The olny hitch we had on teh way home was that the gates to Bute park were locked and had been locked since 4. Not too much of a biggy as i was able to lift the bikes over the fence. We got home with a nice feeling of pleasure and acomplishment.

Daffs

My daffs have been sprouting for nearly a month now, there are a real lot of them emerging from the pot now. There is one tiny one that may have a flower on it and it may flower really soon.

I was pretty proud of teh Daffs so far, thinking that they were really good and that they were ahead of the pack, but the other day i was looking into the window of the persons house that i was insulating and there on the sill was a pot full of flowereing daffs. So much for having the first daffs in town. At least they arn'e planted int he grounds outside, as they are mostly completly frozen.
