Room uodate

Just a couple of pictures showing how the room is coming on. Final coat of gloss paint went on the skirting boards and architraves today, they should be ready for putting on the walls tomorrow or on the weekend.

It looks like the radiators will be delivered on Saturday, stay tuned as to how we get these monsters in the upstairs room.

Not much more for this room now, we will be furnishing it soon, talking about furniture, a visit to Ikea led to Sarah and I buying 2 matching sets of drawers. I have been up putting one of them together tonight. I love flat pack furniture! LOL! I seem to be a sucker for making work for myself.

Upstairs Rooms

So the floor is now finished being sanded, the team have come and gone, three days of hard yaka, now back to Sarah and myself. I went and sourced skirting board from the local hardware and gave the boards a quick coat of undercoat. Hopefully i will get a first layer of gloss paint on this evening. Once they are sanded then i will try to borrow Dave's saw to help cut them before screwing them to the wall with a but od adhesive.

The floors look great though there is a slightly yellow patch in the front room, a previous stain that will not shift. I don't think that this is much of an issue but Sarah keeps commenting on it. I think that she will want it changed, but it is probably a bit too late for that, what with all the rest of the floor having being sanded together.

Sarah also picked up the curtains today, they may go up tomorrow? We will see. The radiators for the heating get delivered next week, then a call to the plumbers to install those, finish off the skirting and then the room is finished.

After that, on ri the next one... The deadline is getting a bit closer.

Front Room Update

after a day of sanding this is how the front bedroom looks. It will be amazing when it is finished.

The last piece of the ceiling

The last piece of ceiling went in tonight. We got given a deadline for Thursday the 5th by the plasterer that we employed so there was a bit of a rush to get the front room completely boarded, ready for plastering. All this last minute rush was all for nought as today I got a message saying that the plasterer will not be able to start till next week. Hopefully we will have a plastered room for Christmas, and therefore a nearly finished house. One step at a time 😊
