Sunny Monday, especially appropriate after the miserable weather that we
have been having in Wales. Collection of the IOS fix base from West
Wales was today proved to be especially good for the timing as the sun
came out, we were near the beach, it was special.
Bury Port is usually a boaring little town with nothing going for it,
however get the sun out an at low tide the sand stretches for miles. The
lighthouse with its white walls and red hat stands out proudly
alongside the golden sand that just screamed out for Sarah an I to walk
across. The danger sign of rushing tides and soggy quick sand was
forgotten as we set out across the Sahara like expanse of lovely yellow
sand. A coffee to energise us (Sarah's was decaf) and the walk to the
waters edge didn't feel very far at all. A lovely stroll through the
ankle deep warm water (yeah crazy, who'd have thought that the water
would be warm) and we headed back for some fish and chips.
It
seemed that every man and his dog was wanting to have some fish and
chips, the poor girls behind the counter didn't know what hit them. Fish
and chips in hand, we headed back to the beach to each them on the sea
shore. A lovely day with Sarah and myself. The only downer was that we
had to leave the dog at home.
